Upload a sortie
Instructors and administrators can upload a recording from Debrief → Sorties. Processing starts immediately and the debrief is ready in about ten minutes for a 90-second engagement.
What to upload#
| Field | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Tanker camera video | Yes | MP4 from the boom camera. STANAG 4609 transport streams go through ingest first. |
| Telemetry CSV | No | Boom elevation, azimuth, extension and contact, plus pilot inputs if you have them. Improves the boom fit and enables the inputs analysis. |
| Pilot ID | Yes | Links the sortie to the pilot's trend and training plan. |
| Declared receiver | Yes | The receiver type you expect. The system checks it against what it sees. |
| Tanker / camera | No | Picks the camera calibration. Set it so drift and calibration are tracked per camera. |
| Date, label | No | For your own reference, for example "Sortie 3, night". |
| Data source | Yes | Operational is marked under the classification guide. Synthetic is for simulated sorties and stays unclassified. |
What happens next#
- Quarantine. The file is held apart until checks pass. The marking it will get is settled before anything is copied.
- Presence and platform check. Analytics run only while a receiver is in view. A platform that is not on the allow-list stops processing and is purged.
- Tracking and assessment. The receiver is tracked in 6-DoF, phases and events are found and the sortie is scored.
- Products. Sanitized video, debrief video, charts and a report are rendered, screened, marked and recorded in the chain of custody.
The sorties list shows progress as it goes. You do not need to keep the page open.
Why was my upload refused?#
| Message | Meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Product would exceed the network ceiling (HTTP 409) | With the current sanitizer settings, a product would be marked above what this system may hold. | Ask a security officer. Usually a sanitizer control (background, markings) was turned off. |
| Status rejected after processing starts | The receiver in view is not on the allow-list. | Nothing was kept. If the receiver should be allowed, an administrator adds it after onboarding. |
data_source must be operational or synthetic | The form or API call sent another value. | Pick one of the two. |
Uploading many sorties#
Use the REST API or the aarcv process command to script uploads. Each upload is queued and processed in order.
